I barely remember being at the FSS, even though this is the first and only one I have ever been to. I guess it was pretty much like I imagined it. As far as the airshow goes, standard fare. As you watch me pan the aircraft static line, you will see a Marine Harrier jet facing you. I watched it being directed to parking on the ramp, and as it hovered over the asphalt the civilian ground guide realized why these aircraft don't hover low over asphalt. It turned the black surface into a puddle with the downward heat it created.
