7. The Schwebebahn

Impressively, the oldest functioning monorail, built in 1901, still operates, serving around twenty stations.

6. The Roosevelt Island Tramway
Positioned amidst Manhattan and Long Island, Roosevelt Island has historically accommodated both a hospital and a correctional facility. 3. Bamboo Train
