Buy Now, Or Wait For Glossy Tandem OLED?
If you're thinking about buying an OLED monitor right now—whether it's a matte W-OLED or a glossy QD-OLED—I'd seriously consider waiting. Based on what I’ve heard from Computex insiders, we're about to see a wave of new glossy 4K tandem W-OLED monitors with four-stack panels, offering higher peak brightness, better black levels, and no magenta tint in bright rooms—issues that still affect QD-OLEDs today. While QD-OLEDs still deliver the best color and might be worth it if you find a good deal, the upcoming glossy W-OLEDs could be the sweet spot in terms of clarity, contrast, and real-world performance. If you’re coming from a matte W-OLED, the glossy upgrade next month could be worth grabbing now. But if you already have a glossy QD-OLED, I’d probably hold off until next year’s tandem OLEDs officially drop. Bottom line: if you're not in a rush and want the best long-term value, waiting for the next-gen glossy OLED monitors—especially those with 4K, tandem stacking, and W-OLED tech—might be the smarter move.
