Isiolo Governor Abdi Ibrahim Hassan has hit back at his opponents, dismissing clan politics and propaganda as desperate attempts to derail his leadership.
Speaking during the Isiolo Pamoja rally on Thursday, Abdi declared the failed impeachment bid a closed chapter, telling rivals to “wait until 2027 if you want power—there are no shortcuts.”
He accused some leaders of misleading President William Ruto with false claims that he lacks grassroots support. “That is nonsense. Development is here for all to see, but those who hate me refuse to acknowledge it,” he said.
Abdi dared his critics to take him to the EACC if they believe he is corrupt, instead of spreading lies. He reaffirmed his resolve to serve two full terms, rallying Isiolo residents to support him, his allies—including Women Rep Mumina Bonaya, MP Joseph Samal and MCAs—and to back President Ruto’s two-term slogan.
