Of all the spellbinding sci-fi releases to have dropped in 2025, Netflix's The Eternaut is perhaps the most accomplished. This dystopian survival thriller about a fictional snowstorm in Buenos Aires has everything you could possibly want in a sci-fi masterpiece, from cutting-edge design to nerve-shredding suspense, as well as a truly terrifying alien intruder upon its real-world setting. A frontrunner for the best sci-fi show of the past year, The Eternaut is a flawless six-parter that’s all too easy to binge in one sitting. If Héctor Germán Oesterheld’s source material is anything to go by, the theme of interdimensional travel will become more central to The Eternaut in later episodes of the show. How The Eternaut Is Different From The Graphic Novel It’s worth noting that Netflix’s version The Eternaut has made several big changes to the original story. However, these changes serve the show well, by grounding it in a realistic depiction of the modern world, and allowing the narrative to unfold naturally. Rather than sticking to the 1950s time period of the graphic novel, the TV series is set in present-day Buenos
