Reactivated track: Delaware & Hudson RS3's on Saratoga, Corinth, & Hudson Hadley Express - 4/26/2025

On 4/26/2025 I chased four runs of the Delaware & Hudson RS3's on the Saratoga, Corinth, & Hudson's Hadley Express trains that take riders to the Hadley Maple in April Festival. These trains run once per year and these are the only publicly offered train rides on this track. Usually SCH runs in Corinth south of there and Revolution Rail's Rail Bikes operate in Hadley. On top of the operation of the train being rare the power included two American Locomotive Works (Alco) RS3's that historically operated on this line. These units arrived last summer after many years absence and these Hadley trips were their first trip this far north in years. Seeing these engines up here was like looking back into the 1950's when this was a normal, everyday thing. On the south end was Alco S2 #5 which is seen many times throughout the video. We follow the train through Corinth and Hadley with a number of shots of the bridge over the Sacandaga River.

It should also be noted that after the Saratoga & North Creek ceased operation in 2018 these rails went dormant except for equipment moves taking engines and cars off the property. In 2022 SCH came in and reactivated the tracks to run their excursions. I am excited to see what SCH can do with the line and the equipment. I plan to film more of this railroad in the future so stay tuned for future updates!
