I visit what might just be the world’s forgotten whisky region, the Lowlands is a hidden gem in the world of Scottish whisky. While many whisky fans visit the famous Scottish whisky regions like Islay or Speyside, this lesser-known area offers something truly special for lovers of single malt whisky, history, and rugged Scotland travel.

On this Scottish whisky road trip, I take my campervan Ernie to a whisky region often overlooked; the Scottish Lowlands. With fewer visitors than the popular Scotch whisky trails, this whisky area still boasts traditional whisky distilling methods and distinctive whisky flavours.

I take part in some distillery tours, chat to local distillers about what makes their scotch whisky unique, and of course, enjoy some memorable whisky tasting experiences complete with a whisky review of Bladnoch distillery and an Edinburgh distillery.
