We love Star Trek, the show and the design. Here's an easy way to make the old-school Starfleet insignia in Adobe Illustrator. There are lots of incarnations of the Starfleet logo and insignia but I've chosen to re-create this one today. It's simply 3 shapes, if you look at it - it's a triangle, an oval and a star, all tweaked just a little using the Convert Anchor Point Tool, and a little bit of Warp (pun intended). Making this insignia will get you familiar with the way the Pen Tools work in Illustrator, and I hope you have lots of fun playing around with the different shapes.
