Dr. Radha Krishnan, Paediatric Cardiologist, Fortis-ESCORTS, New Delhi, will talk on Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) and when to correct it. He informs that all TOFs have to be corrected. It generally depends on the oxygen levels at the time of presentation of the patient.
If the oxygen levels are very low at the time of birth, then a palliative form of surgery known as Blalock–Taussig shunt or the BT shunt. He also tells us that it is generally corrected beyond six months of age.
