RAJASTHAN Series EP #20:Drive to Jodhpur ft. Bullet motorcycle temple, Rohat Kachori & Ratanada, JU.

Hi Friends,

I present to you, the twentieth vlog of the Rajasthan 2023 series. In this vlog, we carry off exactly from where we left it in the previous episode, that is at the railway parallel road between Pali Marwar and Jodhpur. After spotting the two trains i.e. Ranakpur Express & Bandra Jodhpur SF, we departed from that spot, and after passing a few village roads, we came back upon the NH62.

We drove ahead towards Jodhpur, but en-route, we stopped at a village called Chotila, where a unique temple is present. Here, in a place called Om Banna dham, a bullet motorcycle is kept as a deity and worshipped. Legend says that back in the late 1980s, Shri Om Singh Rathore, aka Om Banna, in an inebriated condition, lost control of his vehicle at this spot, and crashed, in which he lost his life.

While the police impounded the vehicle, it kept returning to the spot where the accident occurred, ever since the place has been revered, and people pray to Shri Om Banna ji to bless with a safe passage. It's also one of those few temples in India probably, where Alcohol is accepted as an offering, not to be consumed immediately, but more as a reminder in letter, that driving under influence can prove fatal.

After the darshan at this unique temple, we drove towards Jodhpur, stopped again at Prahladchand Mangeylal Kachori stall, savoured some Kachoris and Mirchi vadas as a late lunch, and topped it with a Khullad chai. We then drove to Jodhpur, where we visited a Ganesh ji temple, in Ratanada, a revival of my mother's childhood memory. Following this, Om ji dropped us in Jodhpur junction before leaving for home, while we checked into the dormitory in the railway station, and that's where the upcoming vlog will continue.
