Will Min Aung Hlaing Be Sanctioned Like Venezuela’s President Maduro?

ကုလသမဂ္ဂမှာ မြန်မာနိုင်ငံကိုယ်စားပြုအနေနဲ့ သံအမတ်ကြီး ဦးကျော်မိုးထွန်းဟာ ယနေ့အထိဆက်လက် တာဝန်ထမ်းဆောင်နေတာပဲ ဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ ဒီနေရာဟာ သံအမတ်ကြီးနဲ့ အထိုက်တန်ဆုံးနေရာဖြစ်ပါတယ်။

ဆက်လက်ပြီး မြန်မာပြည်သူတွေရဲ့ အသံတွေကို နိုင်ငံတကာကကြားသိအောင် ကမ္ဘာ့စင်မြင့်ထက်မှာ ထုတ်ဖော်နိုင်ဖို့ အရမ်းအရေးကြီးပါတယ်။ စစ်ကောင်စီသာ အဲ့နေရာမှာဆိုရင် အလိမ်အညာတွေချည်းပဲ ပြောဆိုနေမှာပါ။ သံအမတ်ကြီးဖြစ်နေလို့ကို စစ်ကောင်စီရဲ့ အလိမ်အညာတွေ လုပ်လို့မရတာပါ။ ဒါကြောင့် ဒီနေရာမှာ သံအမတ်ကြီး ဆက်လက်တည်ရှိနေဖို့ တော်လှန်ပြည်သူများရဲ့ ထောက်ခံအားပေးမှု လိုအပ်ပါတယ်။

မြန်မာနိုင်ငံအရေးနဲ့အတူ မင်းအောင်လှိုင်ဦးဆောင်နေတဲ့ စစ်ကောင်စီဟာ ပြည်သူအပေါ် လူအခွင့်အရေးတွေကို နေ့စဉ်ချိုးဖောက်နေပါတယ်။ မင်းအောင်လှိုင်ဟာ ကျားဖြန့်ခေါင်းဆောင်၊ စစ်ရာဇဝတ်မှု ခေါင်းဆောင်ကို မြန်မာပြည်သူတွေအနေနဲ့ ဘယ်လိုချုပ်ငြိမ်းအောင် လုပ်ဆောင်ရမယ်၊ လုပ်ဆောင်နိုင်မယ့် အကြောင်းအရာတွေအပါအဝင် အမေရိကန်ရဲ့ အရေးယူမှုကိုခံနေရတဲ့ ဗင်နီဇွဲလားသမ္မတမာဒူရိုလိုမျိုး အကြမ်းဖက် စစ်ခေါင်းဆောင် မင်းအောင်လှိုင်ရော အရေးယူခံရနိုင်ချေရှိလားဆိုတဲ့ အကြောင်းကို ကုလသမဂ္ဂဆိုင်ရာ မြန်မာအမြဲတမ်းကိုယ်စားလှယ် သံအမတ်ကြီး ဦးကျော်မိုးထွန်းနဲ့အတူ BBM မှ ကိုထက်မြတ်တို့ တွေ့ဆုံဆွေးနွေးထားတာပဲဖြစ်ပါတယ်။

As of today, Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun continues to serve as Myanmar’s representative to the United Nations. This position is the most appropriate and rightful place for the Ambassador.

It is extremely important to continue conveying the voices of the Myanmar people to the international community from the global stage. If the military junta were occupying this position, they would only spread lies and misinformation. As long as the Ambassador remains in this role, the junta is unable to freely promote its false narratives. Therefore, it is essential that resistance forces (PDF) and the public continue to support the Ambassador’s presence in this position.

At the same time, regarding the situation in Myanmar, the military junta led by Min Aung Hlaing continues to commit daily human rights attack against the people. Min Aung Hlaing is regarded as a leader of organized crime networks and a war crimes leader. This discussion explores how the people of Myanmar can work to bring an end to his actions, what steps can realistically be taken, and whether Min Aung Hlaing could face international sanctions similar to those imposed on Venezuela’s President Nicolás Maduro by the United States.
