I came across this in a box of old video tapes a couple days ago. I had forgotten all about it. I searched for it here on youtube but did not see it. I am hoping that nobody has a problem with it being up here, as I think Cheap Trick fans will love it. And after all, this show was so short lived it will most likely never see the light of day on DVD.
The show ran very briefly in '94 and starred Sir Mix A Lot. I met the guys in Cheap Trick days after this aired here in Seattle. As Robin walked by I said "Hey, aren't you on that T.V. Show the Watcher?" (jokingly- I have been a Trick fan since I was 8 years old)
He blushed "Oh god, has that already aired?"
He told me he had a lot of fun filming it.
Bun E. also mentioned that they had to pay $200.00 just to use the song "Born To Raise Hell" which Rick had written, because at that time the liscense was still owned by the people had made the film "Rock and Rule."
This was before the box set "Sex America Cheap Trick" was released.
Cheap Trick are one of the greatest rock bands of all time. They are terribly under rated and deserve so much more than they have recieved for the years of hard work they have put into their long and winding career...
As often happens it appears something has happened in the youtube upload and the audio is slightly out of synch with the picture. That always bums me out.
There is nothing I could have done about the poor quality of the video tho, as it was on an old video cassette that had been sitting in a box for the last 15 years....
