Something we get asked a lot, does my new board need a tail pad?
The short answer is no, no board NEEDS a tail pad to function, but they can help with grip, awareness of foot placement and protection against pressure dings.
Generally people don't add them to mid lengths and fish boards, due to the less aggressive nature of the turns and the appeal of a fully fresh waxed board.
