Kim Wilde is Shocked by Swedish reaction to her song "Cambodia" on the Closer Tour

Wow, this particular song took off at the Kim Wilde concert in Stockholm last night. Kim did a more "rock" version of Cambodia with a solid guitar emphasis from Ricky Wilde on guitar and the public just lost their minds. It was practically a standing ovation.

You can see the band at 03:48 are expecting that the public will appreciate Ricky's guitar and Kim does point him out, like "thank you Ricky - isn't he good everyone!". But instead of a short appreciation, the crowd goes crazy - stamping their feet, clapping, whistling for about a minute - that is a long time in a concert, while poor Kim waits it out so that she can sing the the last refrain from the song .

I say poor Kim, it was obvious she liked the public response and it was a nice bit of attention directed at her brother. What can I say, Sweden likes its rock and they recognize good guitar when they see it.

Kim and her niece Scarlett certainly also rocked out the Filadelfia tonight, new songs, a new album, and old classics. Great concert. If you can get Swedish public to act like this at a concert you know you are doing something right.
