Day 23 of my backpacking journey from Zion National Park to Green River, Utah in spring of 2022.
Continuing up Sheets Gulch, I left Capitol Reef briefly to cross Tantalus Flats and connect with upper Pleasant Creek. After checking out Pleasant Creek Falls, I followed the stream down through the beautiful canyon and back into the park. I enjoyed some rock art before continuing through the reef and camping in the lower end of the canyon.
NOTE: camping in Capitol Reef National Park is by permit only. Use caution as Pleasant Creek is susceptible to flash flooding. Cross-country travel is only recommended for those with experience and excellent navigation skills. #LeaveNoTrace.
