Principle: Leverage principle is applied.
The core of the leverage principle is to reduce the required force by increasing the force arm. When workers slip the steel pipe over the steel bar, the pipe extends the distance from the force application point to the bending point of the steel bar (i.e., the power arm). According to the lever balance formula Power × Power Arm = Resistance × Resistance Arm, when the resistance (the bending resistance of the steel bar) and the resistance arm (the distance from the bending point of the steel bar to the fixed end) remain unchanged, the longer the power arm, the smaller the force required, making it easier to bend the steel bar.
Benefits:
Labor-saving and efficient: By extending the force arm, the steel bar can be bent with less force, reducing workers' physical exertion and improving operational efficiency.
Simple and readily available tools: Scaffolding steel pipes are common materials on construction sites, eliminating the need to purchase professional bending tools and reducing costs.
Flexible operation: The length of the steel pipe (slipped over) can be adjusted according to the diameter of the steel bar and bending requirements, adapting to different working conditions with high flexibility.
