Lecture 1 of Week 9 of the class Fundamentals of Statistics and Computation for Neuroscientists.
Part of the Neurosciences Graduate Program at UCSD.
This lecture:
1. Provides intuition for how electrical signals can be filtered
2. Describes how to design filters to be used on your data.
3. Explains the continuous wavelet transform (cwt) and how it can be used to calculate the amplitude of an oscillation. Event-related desynchronization is used as an example.
