Run for Unity organized in Jammu to mark the 150th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel

Jammu, October 31:
On the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, popularly known as the Iron Man of India, a “Run for Unity” was organized this morning in Jammu to pay tribute to his unmatched contribution towards national integration and unity.

The event commenced at 7:00 AM from Vikram Chowk and concluded at the Press Club, Jammu. A large number of participants, including members of the public, youth, and officials, joined the run with great enthusiasm, reflecting the spirit of Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat.

State President and Rajya Sabha Member, Shri Sat Sharma, Ashok koul general secretary , mahila porcha and other memebers were also present led the event and paid floral tributes to Sardar Patel. Speaking on the occasion, he recalled Patel’s monumental role in uniting more than 150 princely states into one nation after independence, thereby laying the foundation of a strong and unified India.

“Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s vision and efforts ensured that India emerged as one nation — united in spirit and purpose. His leadership continues to inspire generations to work towards harmony and integrity,” Shri Sat Sharma said while addressing the gathering.

Earlier in the morning, participants also offered Shradhanjali (tributes) to the great leader, remembering his immense contributions to India’s freedom struggle and nation-building. Citizens from across Jammu joined the event, making it a vibrant expression of unity and patriotism.

The event concluded with a pledge to uphold the ideals of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and continue working towards strengthening the unity and integrity of the nation.
