A career in psychology is rarely a straight path. APS member and psychologist Ruth Armstrong shares how she went from teaching to an international career in psychology characterised by curiosity, determination and advocacy for the profession. Interviewed by APS CEO and psychologist Dr Zena Burgess.
Our APS Narrative Project seeks to inspire the future of psychology. It aims to add richness and meaning to our profession, while also gaining insight into the unique journey each psychologist has undertaken to be where they are today. We hope that these stories will help share some of the history of psychology in Australia and provide context to where we are today.
