Thanks for your patience in waiting for the last episode for this little Westinghouse AA5 radio.
For several days running, we let the radio on to let it burn in a little bit and sure enough, one day the radion went silent and we
discovered a filament that burned out on the 35W4 rectifier tube. I have collected some tubes through the years, but didn't have the
one I needed. Had to order one and wait for it to get here. Also, my Heathkit IG-102 signal generator that I purchased several years ago,
was missing it's probe, or test leads. I'm pretty sure that it was part of my purchase, but couldn't find them. So my alignment was not going
to be by the book. But all this, plus the other things in everyday life, meant this got delayed somewhat. I'm learning that antique radio repair
and restoration takes more time than one plans for.
Still this little radio turned out nice and clean, sounds good and is fairly sensitive.
The music at the end is 'Shanghai' by Mimi Martel with The Freddy Lane Quintet on Tops Label.
78RPM 10" shellac record digitzed using Audacity. Couldn't find the year that it was released.
Thanks for watching everbody, and if you enjoyed, plese Like and Subscribe. We will see you again soon!
