죽령옛길은 그동안 수많은 역사적 사건의 배경이 되기도 했습니다. 이 길을 통해 문화와 물자가 이동하며, 동서양의 다양한 문화와 상업 활동이 이어졌습니다. 특히 이곳을 지나던 상인들이 남긴 흔적과 옛 건축물들은 그 시절의 번성했던 모습을 상상하게 해 줍니다. 현재는 그 길의 일부가 복원되어, 많은 사람들이 역사적 의미를 되새기며 이 길을 걷고 있습니다.
소백산에서 가장 유명한 봉우리인 비로봉은 죽령옛길을 걷다 보면 자연스럽게 연결되는 코스입니다. 비로봉은 해발 1,439m로, 정상에 오르면 남쪽으로는 충청북도와 경상북도의 경계가 보이고, 북쪽으로는 소백산의 웅장한 산세가 펼쳐집니다. 이곳에서 바라보는 일출과 일몰은 그 자체로 감동적이며, 소백산을 찾는 많은 사람들에게 최고의 순간을 선사합니다

The name of Jukryeong comes from the Pass with Many Bamboo trees, and it is where there were so many dense bamboo forests in the mountains. This road was more famous as a major road leading from east to west during the Unified Silla Period, where commerce and exchanges took place actively, and as a route for bureaucrats and merchants during the Joseon Dynasty.
Jukryeong Old Road has been the background of many historical events. Through this road, cultures and materials moved, leading to various cultures and commercial activities in the East and the West. In particular, the traces and old structures left by the merchants who passed through this road remind us of the prosperity of those days. Now, a part of the road has been restored, and many people are walking on it to reflect on its historical significance.
The most famous peak in Sobaeksan Mountain, Birobong Peak, is a course that naturally connects when you walk along the Jukryeong Pass. Birobong Peak is 1,439 m above sea level, and when you reach the top, you can see the border between North Chungcheong Province and North Gyeongsang Province to the south, and you can see the magnificent mountains of Sobaeksan Mountain to the north.
