Taken from their new album Settlement which is released on 26 February 2021 it is another important statement from a band who have been breaking boundaries for over 50 years. Each Manner Of Man and the forthcoming album come at a time of political and social upheaval, and the lyrics of the song is an exploration of what makes us human.

David Cousins explains:

“This Strawbs album Settlement is an observation of the restraints on people living in the strange times of an unprecedented pandemic. Each Manner Of Man is the soul of the album. Each and every one of us is looking for release.”

The song is produced by Blue Weaver who played with Strawbs and Bee Gees in their 1970s heydays and also produced the new album. The recording was coordinated from Blue’s studio in Germany, where he now lives. Strawbs are David Cousins, Dave Lambert, Chas Cronk, Dave Bainbridge, and Tony Fernandez who last played together at Strawbs’ 50th Anniversary Weekend in Lakewood, New Jersey in April 2019.

The thought-provoking lyric from ‘Each Manner of Man’, the new Strawbs single, brings David Cousins and John Ford back together after fifty years!
