A Fantastic Discovery - Whitby to Scarborough Cinder Track/Long Meadow Farm

We spent a lovely weekend at Long Meadow Farm Campsite. We were not aware of the cinder track Whitby to Scarborough, and were told about this by a fellow camper on site. On Friday night was sat and watched an amazing sunset over Whitby after having a bite to eat and a walk to the local pub.
Then on Saturday we packed a bag and set off to find the cinder track. This was only a few minutes walk from site, over the A171 and a short way down there is a cut through on to the track. The track runs from Scarborough all the way through to Whitby. This is a lovely walk and we saw some amazing views, not least the ones from the Larpool Viaduct over the River Esk.
On Saturday evening we watched another beautiful sunset. It really was worth the visit just to see the sunsets.
There are also views over Whitby Abbey from the site although it is in the distance.
The site itself is well kept and very clean, however there are no showers or toilet facilities, but there is a CDP, grey waste and fresh water.
On the morning of arrival you receive a text from the site with your pitch number and on arrival you just reply to the text to let them know you have arrived, check in does not get easier than this.
