Giants of Bass - Marcus Miller

This video features the track that I've written to represent Marcus Miller in the revamped edition of my book 'Giants of Bass', which will be released in March 2017 through www.basslinepublishing.com

This track was written in the style of the jazz/funk tunes that were featured on Marcus's most recent releases 'Renaissance' and 'Afrodeezia'. Although Marcus is an amazing all-round bass player, he is known as one of the best slap players in the business. This piece has been written to reflect this side of his playing and features many of his frequently used techniques such as double popping, double thumbing and using the technique to play melodic lines. In true 'Marcus style' the bass solo evolves out of the main groove and features some nice blues and minor pentatonic lines.

This piece features some great musicians: Mark Whitlam (drums), Steve Banks (guitar) and Dan Moore (keys)
