他在地坛看过感情如初的中年夫妻渐渐老去，看过有智力障碍喜欢把灯笼花放在裙子上的可爱小女孩，看过每天来公园唱歌的青年，看过为了在赛事留名以证明自己的跑步者，也看过每日匆匆穿过公园上下班的女工程师…他和其中几位偶有交谈，但大多数时候他就静静观察，感受着。

那些年，地坛既是他得以依赖的一方宁静地，也是被他拟人化的朋友。他与地坛，穿过大雾弥漫，穿过春光浩荡，穿过漫天飞雪的堆银砌玉，穿过大雨滂沱，来相见。见了，就安稳。地坛给了他宁静但又不与世隔绝的灵魂安置。

后来的地坛越来越热闹，但似乎那份属于史铁生的宁静，一直都在。

Shi Tiesheng's story with Ditan Park encompasses the changing seasons of the park, the stories of others he observed, and the life stories he witnessed over time during his fifteen years at Ditan Park.

He watched middle-aged couples, still as in love as ever, grow old; he saw a charming little girl with an intellectual disability who liked to place lantern flowers on her skirt; he saw young people singing in the park daily; he saw runners striving to prove themselves in races; he saw the female engineers rushing through the park on their daily commute... He occasionally spoke with a few of these people, but mostly he just quietly observed and felt.

Through those years, Ditan Park was both a peaceful place he could rely on and a friend he personified. He and Ditan Park met through thick fog, through the splendor of spring, through the shimmering snow, and through torrential rain. The meeting brought him peace. Ditan Park offered him a peaceful, yet not isolated, spiritual home.

Later, Ditan Park became more and more lively, but it seemed that the tranquility belonging to Shi Tiesheng was always there.
