It's amazing what a bit of training, the proper equipment (diving mask, snorkel, water buoy) and courage can bring you. We trained for about 6 months prior to our vacation in Italy and, at San Nicola Arcella, we tested our limits.
San Nicola Arcella is this beautiful town in Calabria, on the Tyrrhenian Sea. We were absolutely stunned by the creeky coastline, the clear waters and the depth of the sea.
We spent the better half of the day in the sea and swam more than 7 km. Among 5 stingrays, a shoal of barracudas and some jellyfish, we enjoyed the presence of countless other fish seeking refuge in the warm waters around the coastline.
