Gran Canaria (2026) is the third largest island of the Grand Canary Island in Spain after Tenerife and Fuerteventura. However, Gran Canaria is the most populous island with almost 1 million inhabitants living permanently on the island, including many Northern European settlers. The capital and biggest city of the island is Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Gran Canaria is part of the so-called Canary Islands in the Atlantic Ocean in front of the Coastline of Morocco, Africa. The highest mountain Morro de la Agujereada of Gran Canaria has an altitude of almost 2,000 m.
