霧の谷の北端、陽の差さぬ深き林の奥、灰白の石で築かれた半崩れの礼拝堂が静かに残されている。
その名を、「聖凱ノ統断（せいがいのとうだん）」──人はそう呼ぶ。

いにしえ、谷には多くの魔女がいた。
彼女たちは火を使わず、声を持たず、名を残さず祈った。
その祈りとは、「祈らぬこと」そのものであり、意味のない沈黙が最も深い供養とされていた。

だが、魔物との戦いにより魔女たちはひとり、またひとりと姿を消し、
今ではただひとり「記さぬ魔女」セレナのみが残っている。

「聖骸ノ灯檀」は、かつての魔女たちが最後に集った場所であり、
彼女たちが語られぬまま失われた記憶の残灰を封じた場所でもある。

礼拝堂の中央には、小さな祭壇と、その上で揺れる灰色の灯。
それは火ではなく──魔女たちの言葉にならなかった想いが燃え尽きたあとの残光であるとされる。

霧の濃い夜、この灯檀に現れるとされるのが、
顔のない精霊──祈ることを最後まで拒んだ魔女の亡霊たちである。

彼女たちは祈ることも許されなかった、
けれど、祈られたくもなかった。

そう、祈らぬことこそが、祈りだったのだ。

セレナはその精霊たちを呼ばず、見ず、ただ静かに瓶をひとつ、灯の前に置く。
そのラベルにはこう記されているという。

「この祈りは語られずに在り続ける。」

誰かのためではない。
誰にも見つからないためでもない。
ただ、残ってしまったもの、を見送る場所──
それが、「聖骸ノ灯檀」の本当の名だという。

At the northern edge of the Veiled Valley,
beyond the sunless depths of the old forest,
a half-collapsed chapel of pale stone still lingers in silence.
Its name: The Chapel of Ashen Reliquary—
or, as the locals whisper, Seigai no Tōdan.

Long ago, many witches lived in this valley.
They used no fire, spoke no words, and left behind no names.
Their prayers were not uttered aloud—
rather, to refrain from prayer was the purest act of devotion.
It was in the unspoken silence that the deepest offerings were made.

But with the coming of the war against the Beasts,
they vanished one by one,
until only one remained:
Serena, the Witch Who Writes Nothing.

The Chapel of Ashen Reliquary
is the place where the witches last gathered,
and where the ashes of unspoken memories
were sealed and left unremembered.

At its center lies a small altar.
Above it flickers a faint, gray flame—
not fire, but the lingering glow of thoughts
that could not be put into words.

On nights when the mist grows thick,
faceless spirits are said to appear within the chapel—
the remnants of witches who refused to pray, even to the end.

They could not be prayed for,
and yet, they wished not to be remembered.

For them, to remain unprayed was the only form of prayer.

Serena never calls to them.
She does not watch.
She simply places a single glass bottle at the foot of the altar.
Its label is said to bear these words:

This prayer shall remain unspoken.

It is not for anyone.
It is not to be found.
It is only a farewell
to what could not be carried onward.

And so they say
That is the true name of the Chapel of Ashen Reliquary.
