Small homes still face big performance challenges. Pete Ferrero walks through how we designed the HVAC layout for the guest bedroom and primary suite at the Cambridge ADU.
Because of the southwest exposure, solar gain and massive Schuco triple-pane European windows, we installed two Mitsubishi medium-static air handlers — one for each bedroom — to allow better zone control and ideal comfort year-round for the homeowners.

• The importance of data logging post-occupancy, lessons learned
• Why zoning for comfort matters in compact high-performance homes
• Coordination of ERV supply and multiple HVAC registers in tight framing cavities
