The Olympics are possibly the greatest celebration on Earth and they bring a hallo effect and a legacy for the host city. They also bring tax bills for decades and questionable legacy. With only two cities in the running the IOC just handed out games to both and this shows an issue for the IOC a lack of interest in bidding. Now Brisbane has won the 2032 Olympics and is spreading their games across the state, minimising spend. Yet they are still facing financial concerns. Can the existing model of holding an immense sporting festival at a different city every four years survive?
