Death Canyon and Alaska Basin Loop in Grand Teton

What ended up being a 30 mile loop with a few add-ons--my favorite of which was Static Peak. This trail begins at the Death Canyon trailhead before making a lollipop loop that goes up to the Static Divide and then descends through the beautiful Alaska Basin in Teton's backcountry. While most people do this as a multi-day backpacking trip, I decided to tackle it all in a day. Other than stunning 360 views and wildflowers everywhere, the highlight for me was seeing the backside of the Tetons--an angle not many visitors get to see. I lucked out with multiple wildlife encounters including bear and moose. If you have the stamina and want to escape the busy crowds while still seeing the magnificence that Grand Teton NP has to offer, then this is the one for you.
