Meriel Bradford reads the last letter home by Maj. Archie MacNaughton of New Brunswick's North Shore Regiment, written the day before D-Day, June 5, 1944.
A 47 year-old veteran of World War 1, and the married father of two children, he didn't need to be at D-Day. He gave his life there.

Meriel Bradford is the daughter of Canadian D-Day planner, Gen Ted Beament.
This reading is from the "Letters in a Time of War" Remembrance event at the Canadian War Museum, Nov. 10, 2019, featuring prominent Canadians reading letters written from the frontlines and the homefront during Canada's conflicts.
