The 'St. Francis Fountain' video, shot by Martin Livesey, was recorded during the second lockdown in the deserted city centre of Manchester amongst the current construction and re-development. Here the cityscape is a backdrop of cranes, half-finished buildings with flickers of surveillance and little evidence of humanity.

“There’s something both thrilling and lonely about this kind of urban landscape in this very specific moment in time. Whilst ‘post-apocalyptic’ may be a bit of an over-the-top description, it certainly feels like a joke centered around the ambitions of late-stage capitalism.” Virginia Wing

‘St. Francis Fountain’ deals with themes of loneliness and attempts at connection in both the real world and in the digital realm. It can be hard to distinguish those important real connections to the superficial ones that have a semi-anonymity when compared to those in real life and a tangible space.
