Hanxin Zhao, a PhD candidate from TU Delft, the Netherlands. With 6 years of efforts ( self-funded for 2 years), excellent work done (4 top-tier papers), shockingly, I didn't get a PhD degree but a termination. The promoter promised to approve my thesis in 2-3 weeks when I requested to change supervisors. However, after delaying my PhD for 2 years, getting my important academic results, full version of PhD thesis, she suddenly broke her promise but decided to terminate my PhD, and requested the university not to give me any chance! The whole PhD turned out to be a nightmare and fraud!
This PhD scandal entails serious academic abuse, fraud, coercion and mismanagement at TPM fauclty and TU Delft, which are a great risk to many other students!

This video reveals the manipulation and fraud activities of TPM faculty when requesting to change supervisors, which led to the PhD termination. I raised the below questions for TU Delft:
1. My PhD was terminated for failing to reach graduation requirement. Then the key to this is the graduation standard at TU Delft. I wonder why TU Delft refused to show graduation standard, but other Dutch universities are able to do? e.g. the graduation requirement from Wageningen University is: 1-2 chapters of a PhD thesis are/likely to be published in low-ranking journals. Also it is true that the promoter's PhD who graduated with only 1low-ranking paper, then how the PhD termination can be justified?
2. During the PhD, I was repeatedly forced to work. In the 5th year, I had sufficient work done. The promoter forced me to stop 3rd paper submission to journals, then I remained under her control. Later, she forced me to work out what she requested by suspending my visa extension. I wonder if her practice involves bullying and coercion?
3. From Aug-Nov 2023, I reported the PhD issue to TPM faculty requesting to change supervisors. On one hand, I was informed by the promoter that I can only ask for a new supervisor via the (faculty) Graduate School; on the other hand, I was informed by the faulty that it’s my responsibility to find new supervisors. After I reached another professor in the faculty then discussed this with the faculty, the PhD transfer failed. But the faculty informed me they can request this professor to temporarily (informally) supervise me. Later, the faculty persuaded me to continue PhD with supervisors by accepting their mediation. I wonder if there is manipulation at TPM faculty for changing supervisors? I wonder if informal supervision is possible, why formal supervision is impossible?
4. Since I cannot find new supervisors at TU Delft, I found an external supervisor trying to balance the supervision by adding a supervisor. I was informed by the faculty that they can arrange a mediation meeting with all parties involved (incl. me, supervisors, faculty, external supervisor). Shockingly, the meeting took place without informing me, but I was forced to accept an agreement reached by others (otherwise my PhD would be ended immediately). I wonder if the faculty’s practice involves manipulation, deception, and coercion?
5. The faculty agreed to provide visa if there is a solution to continue my PhD. However, in the agreement reached by others, I was forced to agree with no visa extension, on-line defense, handing out final thesis and calculation details by Jan 1, 2024. To finish the PhD asap, I confirmed it as much as I can, but requested for only a 3-month visa extension to finish my PhD, but the faculty broke their agreement and rejected my request. I wonder if the faculty’s practice involves deception and neglect of duty?
6. Since the researcher visa is linked to school digital facilities (such as: remote PC, VPN, etc.) which are needed to finish my PhD thesis, I repeatedly requested for only a 3-month visa, but the faculty refused to provide by saying that I can use those ‘facilities’. Later, I requested for only the access to school facilities, the promoter ignored my request, and the faculty informed me that they will arrange that, but there was no action taken. I wonder if these involve lying and neglect of duty?
7. Without visa provided, I had to apply for a visa (maximum 1 year) myself to allow me to stay and finish my PhD in the Netherlands. Without having the access to school facilities, I had to find alternative resources by myself, which further delayed my PhD progress. In 2024, I have 2 papers published in top journals in the field with the affiliation to TU Delft, but without a researcher visa provided, without access to school facilities and in a self-funded situation. I wonder if this is how PhDs are doing research at TU Delft?
