Clean non-slip rubber car mats with a factory finish, that is what Koch Chemie promise with Gummifix or Guf as it is also known. Does it work? How do you safely clean rubber car mats?
Start with cleaning the mats with water and a cleaner or APC. I recommend Autoglanz Rebound as reviewed here • Dirty rubber? Auto Glanz Rebound Tyre and ...
Then apply Koch Chemie (or KCX) Gummifix to the mats using a detailing brush and leave to dry. This is my first impression and first application video showing the detailing product on the Audi SQ5 rubber mats. I have since used Guf on my Edition 40 Clubsport GTI car mats too with great effect. It leaves a OEM finish with no slipping on mats and boot liners (trunk liners)...so no dogs sliding in the rear of your car.
Is Car Pro PERL or Autolgym Vinyl and Rubber better? They look great but they are slippery! CarPro PERL especially due to its silicone content most likely.
This video also features an IK Sprayer which I love and a very poor quality detailing brush - watch the video and see for yourself. I have since used Detail Factory brushes and they are truly wonderful to use - thank you Rag Company UK!
If you want safe, natural looking rubber car mats, then Koch Chemie Gummifix (GUF) could be for you. I am often asked how to detail a car interior and this is part of the answer. Try it out and let me know how you get on!
