Doreen was struggling to find work in Kenya, but then she joined the Pro Agro youth programme, funded by IFAD, BMZ and the Visa Foundation, she received industry specific training and they placed her as an intern at a dairy.
The programme focuses on vocational training, business development and job placement, by partnering with commercial agribusiness companies.
Doreen now works full time quality controller.
Many rural youth across Africa are unemployed, with limited opportunities for entrepreneurs. The Pro Agro Youth Agri business hubs have so far helped 42,000 youth across 9 countries, to find decent jobs.
