Isla San Andres - Johnny Cay - Haynes Cay

Off the east coast of San Andrés is a sandbank called Aquarium Cay. It is located 10 minutes from San Andrés Island and is reached by boat. This Cay is an excellent place to enjoy the sea, the breeze, the sun and see countless fish. As an added bonus you have the opportunity to reach Haynes Cay by wading across a shallow cut that has a rope to guide you. Unbeknownst to us, Haynes Cay is where you can see and swim with the friendly Manta Rays.

We combined this tour with a visit to Johnny Cay. This beautiful small island which is just another short boat ride away is busy and can be loud but the tradeoff is the perfect beach with fine soft sand. It was worth going.

**** NOTE - Try and find a private boat to take you to these two Islands or you will get packed into a tour boat like sardines and held hostage for the entire day!
