Healthy Nut Bars
Ingredients
• Almonds 1/2 cup
• Pistachio 1/2 cup
• Walnuts 1/2 cup, chopped
• Pumpkin seeds 1/4 cup
• Sunflower seeds 1/4 cup
• Flaxseeds 1 tbsp
• Sesame seeds 1 tbsp
• Honey 1/2 cup
• Note: you can use any nuts....total nuts should be 2 cups and honey 1/2 cups
• Dark chocolate optional
Preparation
1. In a pan, toast all the nuts and seeds together on low flame for 6-8 minutes until little bit toasted. I like a little soft so I don’t toast for too long.
2. Take out in a bowl.
3. In the same pan, add honey and cook on extremely low flame. First it will become thin then it will start to bubble and thicken again. Allow to cook for 5-8 minutes on very low flame.
4. Honey is ready if you put a drop of honey in water and it solidifies.
5. Now add the nuts in the honey and mix. Turn the flame off.
6. In a setting tray place a baking paper and place the nut mixture on it.
7. Press with spatula, cut into bars and refrigerate until set.
8. Now take out and coat one side with melted chocolate.
9. Drizzle some on top. Healthy nut bars are ready. Enjoy!
