Today, May 11, 2020, is the 155th anniversary of the opening of the Broad Street building of the League House of The Union League of Philadelphia. The building was slated for a grand opening, of which President Lincoln was set to be the guest of honor. Unfortunately, given the events of April 1865, the building instead opened in mourning, with black bunting adorning the League House.
