As with all our cigar reviews, the 20th Anniversary Connecticut was stored in a Boveda acrylic humidor for three weeks with 69% RH Boveda packs and monitored with a Boveda butler.

00:46 Cigar Overview
Made at the Perdomo factory in Esteli, Nicaragua, also known as El Monstro, it features an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper, that was aged for eight years and then spent eight months for a further ageing period in whiskey barrels. The binder is Nicaraguan Cuban seed and the filler is Nicaraguan Cuban seed as well.

01:52 Look & Feel
The 20th Anniversary Connecticut is a beautifully presented cigar with a healthy sheen and a firm spring despite a few mild soft spots. It delivers notes of tonka bean, cinnamon, and yeasty pizza dough.

The 20th Anniversary Connecticut delivers an excellent draw with rich spicy notes of garam masala, yeasty brioche, and milk chocolate.

03:06 Tasting Notes
The first third opens with a bouquet of spices that consist of curcuma or tumeric, rosewood, and charred bay leaf. Meanwhile, the second third offers clove, brioche, and molasses. The final third consists of honey, cumin, and black pepper.

Overall, it's a complex cigar with an intriguing spicy theme throughout. The mouthfeel remains creamy thanks to the use of a Connecticut wrapper. The cigar is balanced but you may feel a distinction between some dryness towards the front and salivation on the back of the palate. While remaining a consistent cigar, it also displays a rich lifecycle by an evolution of flavours.

06:16 Burn
The cigar's draw is consistent and provides cool smoke. The burn line can occasionally get a little wavy. Its ash backbone is quite impressive and will showcase a steely grey colour.

07:12 Overall Experience
The band is both large and brash with a reflective effect. Similarly, what appears to be two bands is, in fact, a single large one. Meanwhile, this particular box is a 5-cigar presentation case with each cigar individually packaged in their own cardboard tubes. As a result, it's an excellent celebratory option thanks to the presentation. As a result, it offers good value at $9.25 a stick.
