Welcome to Drishti IAS Audio Articles. There was a time during the Indian freedom struggle when the British government became alert after seeing the religious harmony of the Indian people. This unity started with the Khilafat Movement. The Khilafat Movement was an important religious and political movement in Indian history, which lasted from 1919 to 1924. This movement was started by the Muslims of India against the British Empire and in protest the British policies against Turkey. The Khilafat Movement was led by two prominent Muslim leaders, Maulana Mohammad Ali and Shaukat Ali. These two brothers tried to unite the Indian Muslims and laid the foundation of a solid opposition against the British rule. This movement demonstrated the national identity of Indian Muslims and their desire to be free from the British Empire. दृष्टि IAS ऑडियो आर्टिकल्स में आपका स्वागत है। भारतीय स्वतंत्रता संघर्ष के दौरान एक दौर ऐसा भी आया था, जब भारतीय लोगों के धार्मिक सौहार्द को देखकर ब्रिटिश हुकूमत के कान खड़े हो गये थे. इस एकता की शुरुआत हुई थी- ख़िलाफ़त आन्दोलन से. ख़िलाफत आंदोलन भारतीय इतिहास का एक महत्वपूर्ण धार्मिक और राजनीतिक आंदोलन था, जो 1919 से 1924 तक चला। यह आंदोलन भारत के मुसलमानों द्वारा ब्रिटिश साम्राज्य के खिलाफ और तुर्की के खिलाफ ब्रिटिश नीतियों के विरोध में शुरू किया गया था। ख़िलाफत आंदोलन का नेतृत्व दो प्रमुख मुस्लिम नेताओं, मौलाना मोहम्मद अली और शौकत अली ने किया। इन दोनों भाइयों ने भारतीय मुसलमानों को एकजुट करने का प्रयास किया और ब्रिटिश शासन के खिलाफ एक ठोस विरोध की नींव रखी। इस आंदोलन ने भारतीय मुसलमानों की राष्ट्रीय पहचान और उनके ब्रिटिश साम्राज्य से मुक्त होने की इच्छा को प्रदर्शित किया। इस ऑडियो आर्टिकल में खिलाफत आंदोलन से संबंधित विविध पहलुओं पर विस्तार से चर्चा की गयी है।
