Here’s that 70 minute interview I conducted with these two neighbours a few weeks ago in South Carlow. The interview wasn’t planned as such - it was just a rambling conversation with no notes made - just questions leading to answers and answers leading to more questions. The material is dense so I’ve jotted down some bulletpoints of topics covered to make it easier to navigate if researching. Amazing material here including traditions around St. Martins Eve, Wren Boys and St. Steven’s Day, St. Johns Eve, Rogation Days, May Day and quiet a bit of 1798 material. Well worth a listen if you’re from Carlow or neighbouring counties.
