On 29th September 2017, Mumbai witnessed one of its most tragic incidents—the Elphinstone Road stampede. What began with a simple misunderstanding—“Phool gir rahe hai” heard as “Pull gir raha hai”—turned into chaos, costing 23 innocent lives and injuring many more.
This piece is a poetic retelling of that day, where phool (flowers), symbols of innocence and devotion, unknowingly became part of grief and loss. A reminder of how fragile life can be, and how small moments can alter countless destinies.
