Discovering Tasmania: our epic week in Australia's Apple Isle. (And also, soy sauce can't fly)

We spent a week discovering Tasmania with teens from the Danthonia Bruderhof community, and here are the highlights! A trip to Tasmania - aka, Tassie, or the Apple Isle - has been on our bucket list for ages, so we're thrilled to have had this chance to explore this amazing island state, which hangs out at the southern extreme of Australia.

From a climb up Hobart's beloved Mt Wellington, to fishing in the Derwent River, hiking up Mt Amos, and snorkeling in the chilly, crystal-clear water of Wineglass Bay, to a day on Bruny Island, and (bad) karaoke around the campfire - our week was packed with adventure. (Including a minor, and humourous[?] mishap involving soy sauce during Jetstar check-in at Hobart...)

Our group also spent a couple days volunteering with Mission Australia in one of Hobart's poorest neighbourhoods, and working with a charity called Loaves and Fishes, creating meals at a men's shelter. Read about that here: https://loavesandfishestasmania.org.a...
