Tutorial N°08
Hello. My name is Francis, Ing Geomatician. I have studied Geomatic during 5 years and I have 3 years of professional experience. In this video, I will show you how to generate stream network numbers (map of Bifurcation). In the next tutorials, I will show how to produce the 3D view by using Global mapper and Surfer software. Before beginning, I invited you to register on my channel YouTube and leave the comment to talk about your difficulty or your satisfaction in the practice of my tutorials. This video will go through these steps.
Let’s start:
1- Download DEM by using global mapper (See the precedent video)
2- Import it to ArcGIS and verify the DEM if the coordinate system is in projected coordinate system, if not, project the raster
3- Verify that you have activated all extensions
4- Fill the map to replace the no pixel value
5- Create the flow direction by using the precedent fill DEM
6- Create the Flow accumulation by using flow direction (You can equalize the histogram to visualize).
7- Create condition to extract the part of data in flow accumulation (Spatial analyst==Condition==Con). In this tutorial, we will take 1500 for condition (valeur supérieure à 1500)
8- Create Stream Order by using the result of Conditional and Flow Direction
9- Convert the stream order in Shape by using the tool Raster to poly-line or stream to feature
10- Now you can symbolise and make a layout
11- Save your project for the next tutorial
