Owner Paul Coffman and his business partner Ryan make Corny Cones for the upcoming Honolulu Music, Arts & Food Festival on March 13, 14 & 15, 2015 at Aloha Stadium.
In the beginning of the process, corn flour is added to the feeder to prime the "screw" section that compresses the corn meal into a "corn pop" cereal consistency. Then corn meal is added into the hopper at the top, which is then fed into the compressor screw section, where at the end of that part is a heating element (the band with the wires attached to it), which heats the compressed corn meal, turning it into a tube-shaped corn pop. It then exits the machine through a die that pushes the corn pop tube out. The "Corny Cone Maker" sits there, using insulated gloves to shape the exiting corn pop tube into a "J" shape Corny Cone. Each one is broken off and placed in a box on the side. The hot Corny Cones cool and dry hard very quickly.
