Im 268 ha großen Ostteil des Nationalpark Müritz finden sich viele Schätze der Natur. So stehen die ausgedehnten Rotbuchenwälder um Serrahn seit 2011 auf der UNESCO-Welterbe-Liste unter "Alte Buchenwälder Deutschlands". Unter den zahlreichen Seen des Gebiets sei hier der inmitten des Waldes liegende Schweingartensee vorgestellt. Er verdankt seinen Namen der in früheren Jahrhunderten praktizierten Nutzung als Waldweide (Hutung) für das Vieh. Hier wurden vornehmlich Schweine zur Bucheckermast in den Wald getrieben. Die vielen, die Ufer säumenden Baumgerippe sind eine Folge eines Anstieges des Wasserpegels im Jahre 1994 und verleihen dem See heute seinen urtümlichen Charakter.
Die "Geräuschkulisse" wurde Original im Wald am Schweingartensee aufgezeichnet. Das "Bellen" am Beginn stammt von einem Rehbock und wird in der Jägersprache als "Schrecken" bezeichnet. Zum Ende gesellt sich zu dem großen Vogelkonzert auch ein "keckerndes" Eichhörnchen.
The 268 ha eastern part of the Müritz National Park is home to many natural treasures. For example, the extensive red beech forests around Serrahn have been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2011 under "Ancient Beech Forests of Germany". Among the numerous lakes in the area, Lake Schweingarten, which lies in the middle of the forest, should be introduced here. It owes its name to its use in earlier centuries as a forest pasture (Hutung) for cattle. Here, mainly pigs were driven into the forest to fatten beech trees. The many tree trunks lining the shores are a consequence of a rise in the water level in 1994 and give the lake its original character today.
The "soundscape" was originally recorded in the forest at Lake Schweingarten. The "bark" at the beginning comes from a roebuck and is called a "fright" in hunter's language. At the end, the large bird concert is joined by a "nipping" squirrel.
