A short walk through one altered stretch of King St in downtown Courtice, where a blacksmith, general store, post office, church, and school existed. This is a quiet look at how Courtice had been changed from its early pioneer days until now after the widening of Highway 2 (King Street). The village began in the 1850s. Its former "downtown" core existed at Courtice Rd and King St. When the highway was widened in 1988 some of these buildings had to be removed, such as the store and the post office. We look at before and after shots from the exact vantage points of where things existed.
