3D Printing has become an inescapable part of building top quality model cars. One of the most difficult things to print well is model car bodies. I've picked up a thing or two over the past several months, and I'd like to share some ideas with you on how to get better prints.

Since I realize that 3D printing isn't for everyone, while also cognizant of the impact 3D printing will have now and in the future of our hobby, I also wanted to use this opportunity to give hobbyists some pointers on what to look for when buying 3D printed kits and bodies.

Mars 5 Ultra ACF Film (ACF Film is a newer, more advanced version of PFA film, which was a newer, more advanced version of FEP film. Its supposed to work better. It costs more. I have no experience with it.)

NOBODY, and I mean NOBODY, read this far down in the description....but if you did, YOU ROCK! That said, if you buy an extra resin vat, it comes equipped with a FEP (Mars 5 Ultra) or a PFA film (Saturn 4 Ultra) already installed. It also comes with a useful cover for the vat so you can store resin when not in use. The vat cover does NOT come with the printer. Having a spare resin vat would make it easier to, for instance, switch between different types of resin, or different colors of resin...and yes, resin comes in some cool colors too... exciting, right!?

Safety Considerations are covered on Scale Speed Garage, and are also widely available elsewhere, but ensure adequate ventilation, personal protective equipment and dispose of cured and uncured resin safely and according to your local laws and ordinances.
