66th British Film Collectors Convention April 29th 2023 held at Chorleywood, United Kingdom

Before 4K, before Blu Ray, DVD, VCD, Laserdisc, VHS etc, the only way to show films at home was via film and in particular Super 8. I was a collector back then and watching John Clancy's channel 'MovieCollector' brought back waves of nostalgia and I have started collecting again.

On the Saturday of 29th April 2023 I attended the 66th British Film Collectors Convention. The event was held at the War Memorial Hall in Chorleywood just outside London. The event was opened by David McGillivray who wrote the screenplays for Frightmare, House of Whipcord, House of Mortal Sin and Schizo. Later in the day Spizz, from the punk band Spizzenergi famous for the single "Where's Captain Kirk?", introduced a couple of Laurel and Hardy shorts. We were entertained by large screen projection of various films. Many of these films were on Super 8 and they looked great on the large screen, showing just how good Super 8 can look.
